Swap Cards …

Posted by Crystal
· Thursday, April 13th, 2017

When we attend these Stampin Up Events we SWAP CARDS! I participated in one organized swap and then I made two cards for general swapping. For the organized swap I made 15 cards and received 15 cards in return.

Here is my card:

And here are the cards I received:

For regular swapping you only make card fronts, not complete cards like above, here are my two card fronts I made for swapping:

This card I show cased the fun technique of shaving cream…it looks like marble.

This is watercolor wash…thanks Karyn for letting me borrow your set, I ordered my own this week!

Here are the cards I that I traded for:

There are some seriously talented stampers…with the card fronts, I often convert them to full cards and use them to send to you guys and family.  WHO knows..maybe you will get one….Do you have a favorite or two or three?

My retired sets…

some I will keep…

some I will sell…

some I will give away!

What are you sad to see go?

I created this card using the Love You Lots Hostess Stamp Set, The Balloon Punch and the greeting from the Tasty Trucks Stamp Set.  My friend Sindy H, is soon to be a Grandma and is going crazy buying goodies for her grandbaby.  I sent a little gift and made this fun card for the gift!  I love how it turned out!  I hope she loves it too!  What do you think?

From The Herd

· Friday, April 17th, 2015

This fun “etch-a-sketch” card is just too cute. When I saw this card at Leadership, I knew I wanted to case it. I saw several versions of it using various stamps, but I love it with From The Herd. (side note the picture below is before I rounded the corners)

etchherd

Stampin’ Supplies:

Stamp: From The Herd 138834  Paper: Real Red Cut & Ready Card Bases 136658, Smoky Slate 131302, Chipboard Scraps (from DSP packages), Window Sheets 114323 Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black 132708, VersaMark 102283 Misc: Framelits-Project Life Cards & Labels 135707; Punches- ¾ Circle Punch 119873, Corner Rounder 135346, Gold Embossing Powder 109129

The base starts with the Real Red card base with the center die cut using the smaller rectangle from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. The get the “Etch-a-Sketch” feel I gold embossed the birthday greeting From The Herd on top of the frame. Stamp using VersaMark and then use gold embossing powder & the heat gun. The “sketch” part is stamped on the Smokey Slate Card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the center of a 5 ¼ x 4 Smokey Slate CS. Make sure it is good and dry and then adhere a 5 ¼ x 4 Window sheet to the top of it, just use adhesive on the very edge all around it. You do NOT want your adhesive to show in your window. Put a dimensional in each corner of the TOP of your “sketch”. This makes it so you do not see them from the front when you tilt the card and you know you will want to, it is okay. WAIT…before you peel off the dimensional covers, lay the card down, and place the “sketch” layers inside the card centered. Then fold the front onto it to make sure it is where you want it. Then peel the covers off and slowly press the cover down a bit at a time. Finally, I punched four ¾ inch circles from chipboard/cardboard I had leftover from DSP packages. I put a dimensional between a set of them and then used Multi-Purpose Tombo Glue to the bottom corners of the card to give it the Etch-A-Sketch look.
